Liquid compass

Card: Plastic ring 0.5" (1.3 cm) wide painted white with black markings, graduated to 360 degrees attached by wire framework to annular plastic float at the centre. The base plate is of clear perspex 6.3" (16.0 cm) diameter, and has four lubber lines carried on curved plastic standards.

Neelde: Two flat bar needles 2.8" (7.5 cm) long, are encased in plastic and are mounted on underside of float.

Pivot: Inverted type, with pivot point carried in float. The cup is in a plastic ball which is mounted so that the float cannot jump off. It is carried on a stem attached to the base plate, which has a spring anti-vibration system
