Compass card

Dry card compass.
From the catalogue card:
Card: mica covered with paper, white with black markings, graduated quadrantally in degrees and to 1/2 points. N indicated by a five pointed star. There is a 1.25" dia hole at centre to take pivot. Inscription 'Marine Imperiale'. On the back in ms '96.8'
Needle: One flat bar needle 8.0" (20.3cm) long with painted ends and an expanded centre. A brass bridge is fitted abve card attached to upper surface of needle. Brass balancing weights are fitted at E & W points. Inscription '784'.
Pivot: Inverted type having a steel pivot point attached to underside of the brass bridge mounted above expanded centre of needle.
Inscriptions: Marine Imperiale'
