Dry compass
Card-Kelvin style card. Has a paper band which is attached to the circumference and to the centre by silk threads. There is a silver paper centre. The paper band is white with black markings graduated to 1/4 points and quadrantally in degrees.
Pivot-An aluminium pivot cap secures the silk threds and silver paper.
Needle-There are eight needles, in 2 sets of 4, suspended below the card by an independent silk thread system. Lengths 3.5"; 3.25"; 3.0"; 2.25" ( 9cm, 8.3cm, 7.6cm, 5.6cm)
