Dry compass
Card-Mica covered with paper, black with white markings, graduated to 32 points. Has decorated E point. Fitted with a heavy metal rim which is graduated quadrantally in degrees.
Needle-Unusual single bar edge needle, 6.5" long, 0.2" deep at centre, increasing to 0.52 deep at ends. Has expanded centre to accommodate pivot cap.
Pivot- Cone-shaped brass pivot cap with jewel at top, screwed through centre of needle.
