Boat's compass
Card-Mica covered with paper. Has two faces, one normal and one inverted for use in an Overhead Compass. Black with white markings, graduated to points and quadrantally in degrees. Decorated East points and has leaf decoration at centre. Wax balancing blob on needle side of card.
Needle-Flat edge bar type, tapered to blunt point at ends. Expanded at centre to accommodate pivot cap.
Pivot- Cone-shaped brass pivot with jewel at top. The pivot cap screws into the needle, thread can be seen.
