Compass card
Card- Mica with paper rim and star depicting the 8 points of the compass. Rim is black with white markings graduated to 1/2 points. Star is white with black letters. Star is open at centre. Rim is dished. Decorated East point. North point decorated with a leaf.
Needle- Thin flat elliptical needle pointed at north and south. Attached to card by two screws north and South, and by metal crossbar connected to pivot cap, length 7.5" (19cm), width 3" (7.7cm)-at centre.
Pivot- Cone-shaped brass pivot fitted with jewel at centre.
