Compass card
Card- Mica with paper rim and star depicting the 8 points of the compass. Rim is black with white markings graduated to 1/2 points. Star is white with black letters and black circular centre. Wax balancing blobs in red and black on underside.
Needle- Thin flat elliptical needle secured to card by small triangular brass plates fixed at North and South. and by metal crossbar connected to pivot cap, length 7.75" (19.7cm), width 3.25" (8.3 cm)-at centre.
Pivot- Small stud type pivot with jewel at centre.
