Dry compass

Card- Mica covered with paper. White with black and white markings, graduated to 1/4 and graduated quadrantally in degrees.
Needle- Single light edge bar type 7.7" length, with flattened expanded centre into which pivot cap is screwed. Fitted with two sliding balancing weights. Mounted on a light metal ring which is attached to card by screws.
Pivot- Cone-shaped brass pivot cap with jewel at top screwed through centre of needle.
