Dry compass

Card-Mica covered with paper,white with black markings, graduated to 1/4 points and has decorated East point.
Needle- Four solid edge bar needles 2 x 4" and 2 x 3" long. Outer needles 0.3" deep, inner ones 0.3" deep at ends with semi-circular swell at centre 1.3" deep. The inner needles 1.25" apart, outer ones 0.5" outside inner two. Attached to a metal ring 3.75" dia. which is screwed to card. At the East point on this ring is a balancing disc.
Pivot-Cone-shaped brass pivot cap with jewel at top, screwed through centre of brass plate, having an expanded centre secured to inner needles by brass knee pieces.
