Compass card
Card-Mica covered with paper, blue with black and blue markings, graduated to 1/4 points and quadrantally in degrees.
Needle- Four bar edge needles, composed of two laminations of rolled clock spring steel, 2 x 8.75"(22.2cm) and 2 x 7" (17.8cm) long and 0.4"(1.2cm) deep.Two inner needles 3.25" (8.2cm) apart , the two outer 1.25" (3.2cm) from inner ones. Mounted on a metal ring 9.4" dia.(23.8cm) which is screwed to the card.
Pivot- Heavy cone-shaped brass pivot cap with white metal bearing at top, screwed through centre plate of framework having four long arms, carrying sliding weights, attached to the metal mounting ring.
In wooden box 11" x 11" x 1.25" (28 x 28 x 3.2cm)
