Compass card
Card-Mica covered with paper, black with white markings, graduated to 1/4 points.
Needle- Two light bar edge needles, 5.5" long and 0.4" deep and 3" apart. Mounted on two light bars secured to ends of needles and screwed to the card. Two additional short bars are attached to outer centre of needles and screwed to card. Two short brass bars carrying sliding weights are attached to the mounting bars.
Pivot- Cone-shaped brass pivot cap with jewel at top, screwed through centre plate of framework consisting of four crossed struts which are attached to the two needles.
