Dry compass
Card-Mica covered with paper, black with white markings, graduated to 1/2 points, with decorated N & E points.
Needle- Single "T" shaped fin 5" (12.7cm) long, cut away at centre to accommodate the jewelled pivot cup.
Pivot- Jewelled pivot carried at top of pivot cup which extends 0.75" (2cm) above card. A small metal disc is secured to the lower end of the socket which carries the cup, which has a small aperture through which the pivot passess to the cup.
