Dry compass
Card-Mica covered with paper, white with white and black markings, graduated to 1/4 points and quadrantally in degrees.
Needle- Four short compound edge bar needles, 2 x 3.6" and 2 x 2.7" long, each composed of three laminations of steel. Two brass strips, one E-W and one N-S carrying sliding weights are fitted. The whole is attached on two metal rings 3.5" and 6.75" diameter, the outer being screwed to card.
