NMM, Progress Book, volume 6, folio 195, states that 'Boscawen' (1844) was being built at Woolwich Dockyard between January 1826 and her launch on 3 April 1844. She was then moved to Sheerness Dockyard, arriving on 4 April 1844 to be fitted for ordinary, which was completed on 26 September 1848.
