Dry compass

Card: Mica with markings painted onto it. Grey with black markings graduated to half points and 0 - 360 degrees. Open at centre to accommodate angled iron bridge which holds pivot spike.

Needle: two edge bar needles attached to card support framework. Both needles have moveable weights attached. Length 10" (25.5 cm)

Pivot: The bridge is attached to a central ring by screws and leaf springs. The pivot spike screws into the bridge.
