Dry compass

Card: Mica covered with paper, white with black markings, graduated to quarter points.

Needle: Single steel needle, T shaped with the vertical fin cut away at the centre to accommodate the jewel cap. The centre of needle is slightly expanded. 6.75" in length.

Pivot: The jewel cap is carried in a brass stem 0.5" above the face of the card and screwed through the centre of the needle.
