Liquid compass

Card: This card consists of two flat circular pieces of metal joined at the edges by metal rims half an inch wide. There is a circular aperture at the centre to hold the pivot gimbals. The card is white with black markings graduated to quarter points. The East point is decorated.

Needle: The needle is a circular band soldered to the bottom of the card. Diameter 5.5" (13.9 cm)

Pivot: The inverted pivot spike is mounted in gimbals at the centre of the card.
