Boat's compass

Card: The card is a hollow flat ring with a hole in the centre. The top is white with black markings graduated to quarter points. It has a decorated East point.

Needle: The needles are in the body of the ring.

Pivot: A single gimballed pivot spike is at the centre. There are two wires above the card to stop it coming off the pivot cap.
