Boat's Liquid Compass and Binnacle

Boat's liquid compass. Inscribed on the cover plate is the following: 'D1220', and on a plate on the binnacle the following is inscribed: 'PATT 0210/No.1107 B'.

Bowl: Grey painted brass, filler plug at side, expansion chamber at base. Bottom of bowl fitted with cover plate. Inside of bowl painted white with a black painted lubber line on the fore side. Mounted in grey painted brass gimbal ring 6.0" (15.2 cm) diameter, secured in the binnacle.

Card: Diameter 4.0" (10.1 cm) white painted mica? with black markings, graduated quadrantally in degrees. Attached to white painted float at centre.

Needle: Unsighted.

Pivot: Unsighted.

Binnacle: Dia 7.5" 919.0 cm) Grey painted brass, and glazed aperture on aft side, carrying handle at top and an oil lamp fitting on starboard side.
