Admiralty transmitting compass Type 4G
Consists of a grey painted metal cylindrical casing 11" (27.9cm) dia. 26" (66cm) high. Two doors in base give access to fore and aft and athwartship corrector magnet racks, and a vertical tube containing the vertical magnets. A glazed aperture is cut in side of top of casing through which can be seen a vertical card, graduated to 360 degs.
Compass-Dia. 4.9" (12.5cm) mounted at top of casing. Black plastic casing with expansion chmaber at top. Fitted with a white plastic ring with black markings, graduated to 360degs. Attached to outer casing by a spring suspension system.
