Liquid compass and binnacle

Bowl-Dia. 9.75" (24.8cm) Grey painted brass, filler plug at side, expansion chamber at base incorporated with glazed bottom, base fitted with a heavy balancing ring. Inside of bowl painted white with two black wire lubber lines mounted on side. Mounted in a grey painted brass gimbal ring 11.75" (29.8cm) dia.
Card-Dia. 7.5" (19cm) Unpainted aluminium perforated graduations to 360 degs. Attached to an unpainted aluminium float at centre.
Binnacle- Dia. at top 14.5" (36.8cm), dia. at base 6.5" (16.5cm). Grey painted brass with brass fittings. Fitted with sphere brackets (spheres missing), "Flinders Bar" 25.5" (64.8cm) long, a door at side (missing) gives acess to geared horizontal and vertical corrector magnet mechanism. Fitted with B and H.E. coils wound onto the binnacle and Flinders Bar, and electric lamp fittings.
