Boat's Liquid Compass and Binnacle

Bowl- Grey painted brass, filler plug at side, expansion chamber at base. Inside of bowl silvered with black painted lubber line carried on a silvered metal strip attached to side of bowl. Mounted in a grey painted brass gimbal ring 5.5" (14cm) dia. attached by "Y's" to side of binnacle.
Card-Dia. 4" (10.2cm) unpainted aluminium with perforated markings, graduated to 360 degs. and attached to unpainted aluminium float at centre.
Binnacle-7" x 7.25" x 10" (17.8 x 18.4 x 25.4cm. Grey painted copper. Hood of binnacle has a 5.5" x 4" ( 14cm x 10.2cm) window at front and an oil lamp or an electric light fitting at side and a carrying handle at top. At the back of binnacle is fitted a bracket for attaching binnacle to a boat's thwart.
