Liquid compass

Bowl-Grey painted brass, filler plug at side, expansion chamber at base (under curved cover). Inside of bowl painted white with four black painted lubberlines on side. Mounted in grey painted brass gimbal ring 12" (30.5cm) dia.
Card-Dia. 8.75" (22.2cm) Annular card 1.5" (3.9cm) wide of mica (?) covered with a white fabric with black markings. Graduated to 360 degs. and to 1/4 points. Attached by a black wire framework to a large black float at centre.
Needle-Six wire needles of circular section mounted on wire framework below card.
In wooden transit case 12.75 x 12.75 x 7" ( 31.7 x 31.7 x 17.8cm)
