Albermarle (1781) - ex French Menagere? (1776)
Scale 1:48. Plan showing the body plan, stern board decoration, sheer lines with inboard detail and figurehead and longitudinal half breadth for Albermarle (1781) a captured French Frigate, as taken off at Portsmouth Dockyard, prior to being fitted as a 28-gun, Sixth Rate Frigate.
NMM Progress Book, volume 65 folio 283, states that 'Albermarle' was docked at Woolwich Dockyard on 3 July 1781 and undocked on 1 September. She sailed on 12 October 1781 having been fitted.
Albermarle had been paid off in February 1781, only to be recommissioned under Captain Horatio Nelson on 15 August 1781 for the North Sea and Channel.
