Aprpoved design for the 1745 Establishment 24-gun Sixth Rates.
Scale: 1:48. Plan showing the body plan, sheer lines with inboard detail, and longitudinal half-breadth for the 1745 Establishment design for 24-gun Sixth Rates, approved by the Flag Officers. The plan indicates that it was for Garland (1748), but plan ZAZ3606 illustrates that there are differences between the ship's design and this plan for the later approved Establishment. The fact it mentions its approval from the Flag Officers &c... indicates that this is a copy of the plan agreed by the committee under Sir John Norris, which included the Surveyors and the Master Shipwrights from the Royal Dockyards.
The plan is signed by Joshua Allin [Surveyor of the Navy, 1716-1755].
A note at the bottom of the plan states: 'A copy of the Draught for a 24 Gunship approved by the Flagg Officers &c... in 1745, [signed] Jacob E. Acworth [Surveyor of the Navy, 1716-1749]'.
