Racehorse (purchased 1781)
Scale: 1:48. Plan showing the body plan, sheer lines with inboard detail and longitudinal half-breadth for Racehorse (purchased 1781), a merchant ship purchased in frame and completed as a 16-gun Ship Sloop. The plan illustrates the ship as taken off at Liverpool in 1781 after her launch.
NMM, Progress Book, volume 5, folio 443 states that 'Racehorse' was purchased in frame and launched on 20 October 1781 at Fisher's Yard in Liverpool. She sailed in April 1782 having been built and fitted, and stayed at Plymouth Dockyard between April and early May to have her defects made good.
