Consists of a wooden base board at the centre of which is mounted a white plastic compass card 7.7" (19.5 cm) diameter, graduated to points and to 360 degrees. At each end of the base board is fitted a vertical brass bar 17.0" (43.2 cm) high. A brass bar 10.5" (26.6 cm) long is mounted between the two vertical bars and can be moved up and down at will. The horizontal bar has a large hole in its centre.
