Liquid compass
The object is a float for a liquid compass, not the entire liquid compass.
Float: A heavy brass domed float. Top has been cut away to allow inspection of interior. Inside are four magnets each made up of three elements 2 x 4.75", 2 x 3.25" long. There are four flat bar magnets encesed in brass mounted on underside of float.
