Magnetic transmitting compass

Bowl: Grey painted brass, filler plug at side, expansionn chamber at base. Inside of bowl (condition poor) four wire lubber lines are attached to side of bowl. Mounted in an outer casing of grey painted brass, with a spring suspension. Outer casing carries an index mark and a black ring with white markings, graduated to 360 degrees. The whole unit is mounted on a frame, on which it can rotate, which contains the transmitting mechanism.

Card: A wire spider of eight elements attached to the pivot at centre.

Needle: Two needles of circular sectionn can be seen attached below pivot.

Pivot: Unsighted.
