Liquid compass

Bowl: Grey painted brass, filler plug and expansion chamber unsighted. Inside of bowl painted white with a long wire lubber pointer projecting from the side. Mounted in an outer casing of grey painted brass 6.25" (15.9 cm) dia. fitted with a mounting spigot with clamp at base.

Card: Dia 1.25" (3.1 cm) White painted mica ring with black markings, graduated to 360 degrees, attached by a framework to a black float at centre. The framework carries four wire damper arms at cardinal points.

Needle: Four nedles of circular section are mounted below card.

Pivot: Unsighted but pivot stem can be seen attached to a bridge mounted across base of bowl.
