Ostrich (purchased 1777)

Scale: 1:48. Plan showing the body plan, stern board outline with decoration, sheer lines with inboard detail and quarter decoration and figurehead, and longitudinal half-breadth for Ostrich (purchased 1777), a purchased merchant ship fitted as a 14-gun Ship Sloop.

Signed by George White [Master Shipwright, Sheerness Dockyard, 1773-1778].

NMM, Progress Book, volume 5, folio 427, states that 'Ostrich' arrived at Sheerness Dockyard on 20 October 1777, and was launched on 19 November 1777. She sailed on 10 January 1778. Her merchant name is not recorded.
