Proposed 104ft 12-gun Brig (no date)
Scale: 1:48. Plan showing the body plan, sheer lines and longitudinal half-breadth proposed for a 104ft 12-gun Brig designed by Read, Chatfield and Creuze of the School of Naval Architecture by order of the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty, dated 23 April 1842. The dimensions are very similar to those of Espeigle (1844), a 12-gun Brig built at Chatham to a School of Naval Architecture design.
Reverse: The plan records the tables of data relating to the construction of the brig, including Dimensions of Masts & Yards, Weights of Fittings, Victualling Data, Scantlings, Sails data, Displacement Curve, and Ordnance Department information.
