Charybdis (1831); Forester (1832); Griffon (1832); Buzzard (1834); Lynx (1833); Termagant (1838)
Scale: 1:48 and full size. Plan showing the inboard profile, upper deck, and section through the iron plate for the swivelling long gun for Charybdis (1831), a 10-gun flush-decked brig, cut down and fitted at Portsmouth Dockyard. This included moving the masts and giving them a greater rake, as part of re-rigging her as a brigantine. A copy of the plan was taken at Chatham Dockyard in 1832 for Griffin (1832) and Forester (1832), both completed as three-gun brigantines, recorded here in black ink. The alterations in green ink relate to the Buzzard (1834), Lynx (1833) and Termagant (1838), all building at Portsmouth Dockyard and completed as 3-gun brigantines (also known as hermaphrodite rig).
