Hazard (1749)

Scale: 1:48. Plan showing the body plan, sheer lines, and longitudinal half-breadth for Hazard (1749), a two-masted 8-gun Ship Sloop. The plan is a copy of a proposal sent by Benjamin Slade, Master Shipwright of Plymouth Dockyard between 1746 and 1750 when he died. It was used to build the Hazard at Portsmouth Dockyard. The plan includes later proposed alterations dated July 1755 to raise the sloop's height from the knighthead to the after part of the forechain, and also to lengthen the forecastle. It is unclear if these alterations were undertaken.
