65ft Stone Carrier (no date)

Scale: 1:48. A plan showing the body plan, sheer lines, and longitudinal half-breadth with deck details for a sixty-five foot stone carrier (no date), as proposed by Captain Huddart for carrying stone to the breakwater in Plymouth Sound.

Captain Joseph Huddart (1741-1816), was a Captain in the East India Company and a hydrographer. On retirement he was recognised as an engineer specialising in harbour construction [see Oxford Dictionary of National Biography].
