'Dove' (1805?)

Scale: 1:48. A plan showing the upper deck, and lower deck with fore and aft platforms for 'Dove' (1805?), a four gun despatch cutter as fitted at Deptford Dockyard. There is some confusion as to whether this is the vessel that was the ex-mercantile cutter 'Ariadne' (1803), or a later 'Dove' also of 1805. However, the date '1803' on the plan predates either of the vessels being bought into the navy.

Signed by John Henslow [Surveyor of the Navy, 1784-1806].
