Sea chest handle
A sea chest handle or becket made on board the ship 'Dynomene' 1882. It has a leather covered bolt. The eye splices are covered with ring bolt hitching. The grip is covered with grafting and coachwhipping and six Turk's heads. One terminal knot is missing, the other is a 4-strand button knot with a pinked leather washer. The becket is painted green, orange, white and brown.
