Aorangi (1883)
A whole plate negative. A starboard near broadside view, taken from ahead of the beam, of the passenger/cargo liner Aorangi (1883) at anchor in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She has three yards on her fore and main masts and is flying the blue peter. The Coast Guard Watch Vessel CGWV.28 (1847) is hauled up on the Tilbury shore in the right background. CGWV.28 was formerly the Royal Navy brig Elk (1847) Tilbury Docks are in the left background.
