Aotea (1895)
A 12x10 negative. A distant port near broadside view, taken from just ahead of the beam, of the cargo liner Aotea (1895) just under in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She is manoeuvring and has slight forward movement.. Her port anchor is not housed and her pilot ladder is over the side amidships. She has four yards on her foremast. The passenger ferry Earl of Essex (1877) is alongside Tilbury landing stage and the ferry Sir Walter Raleigh (1855) is at the maintenance jetty.
