A 12x10 negative. A starboard side view, taken from well ahead of the beam, of the passenger/cargo liner Austral (1881) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She has been refitted with tall funnels and the yards have been removed from her fore and main masts. Tilbury is in the background.
