A 12x10 negative. A starboard broadside view of the passenger/cargo liner Austral (1881) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She has short funnels and the yards to her fore and main masts have been removed. A number of rowing skiffs are in the foreground and Tilbury is in the background.
