Austral (1881)
A half plate negative of a starboard very near broadside view, taken from only just ahead of the beam, of the passenger/cargo liner Austral (1881) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She has short funnels and the yards to her fore and main masts have been removed. A number of rowing skiffs are in the foreground and Tilbury is in the background. A copy negative of an original Gould photographic print. The original print is not in the Collection.
