Australia (1870)
A whole plate negative. A starboard near broadside view, taken from just ahead of the beam, of the passenger/cargo liner Australia (1870) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She has an auxiliary barque rig with three yards on each of her fore and main masts andshe is flying the blue peter. She has awnings rigged aft. Two men are working on the mooring buoy. Tilbury Fort Watergate is in the right background.
