A 12x10 negative. A port broadside view of the screw tug Rescue (1893) at anchor in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. Three of her crew are sitting on deck looking at the photographer and she has a large unidentified flag at her masthead. In the right background and seen from ahead of her port beam is the general cargo steamship Blanchland (1883). She is at anchor and has a full deck cargo of sawn timber. She has two yards on her foremast. Tilbury Fort gatehouse is in the background.
