A 12x10 negative. A slightly distant starboard side view, taken from ahead of the beam, of the two Watkins tugs Iona (1876) and Canada (1880) in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. The paddle tug Iona (1876 is at anchor and six of her crew are looking towards the photographer. The screw tug Canada (1880) is astern of the Iona (1876) and has a light line from her bow to the stern of the Iona (1876). They are both flying the houseflag of the Union-Castle Mail Steamship Co Ltd. Tilbury is in the background.
