A 12x10 negative. A slightly distant starboard broadside view of the passenger/cargo liner carthage (1881) at anchor in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She is shown as refitted with masts reduced from four to two and all yards removed. A number of skiffs and a small steam vessel are at anchor in the foreground. Tilbury is in the background.
