Cedric (1903)
A 12x10 negative. A slightly distant starboard side view, taken from ahead of the beam, of the former spritsail barge Cedric (1903) at moorings off Little Thurrock Marshes on the River Thames. She is a Dutch built ironpot barge much modified for a voyage to Para, Brazil, on the River Amazon. Steel bulwarks have been fitted at bow and stern and she has a single masted jury sailing rig consisting of a foresail, a square sail on a yard, and a mainsail. She has also been given a large boom to handle her boat. She left her moorings under tow of the tug Parreiras Horta (1908), together with the similarly converted barge Latona (1898), on 18 July 1909.
