Chimborazo (1871)
A whole plate negative. A starboard broadside view of the passenger/cargo liner Chimborazo (1871) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She has three yards on each of her fore and main masts and an awning is rigged aft. There are no deckhouses abreast the foremast. She has a large number of passengers on deck and her hull side doors are open. The bow of a paddle steamer, possibly a tug, whose name ends in the letter M is in the left foreground. Tilbury Fort gatehouse is in the background.
