Chimborazo (1871)
A whole plate negative. A fair quality port near broadside view, taken from just ahead of the beam, of the passenger/cargo liner Chimborazo (1871) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She has three yards on each of her fore and main masts and an awning is rigged aft. There are no deckhouses abreast the foremast. A large number of passengers are on deck. The sterns of two tugs are in the left foreground and the bow of a paddle steamer, probably a tug, is on the right. Tilbury is in the background.
