City of Athens (1901)
A 12x10 negative. A distant port very near broadside view, taken from only just abaft the beam, of the passenger/cargo liner City of Athens (1901) manoeuvring in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. Her engine is running astern and her port anchor is not fully housed. The ship is in Ellerman colours. Tilbury hotel is in the left background and a new steel framed structure is being erected at Tilbury Station in the right background.
